"Richly imagined landscape. A gentle cautionary tale to remind us of what’s important …working together to look after our world and its creatures." Cathy Oxley, teacher, librarian: Australia

With its enchanting illustrations, and its story of a kind hero’s journey…this lovely book will engage the imagination of your child and your child-within. It is an antidote for our times. Highly recommended.” —Paul Read, husband, father, gardener

The Author

I picked up most of my bad habits in my teens, including art, music and woodworking. Recently finding a scrap of paper on which I had jotted a rudimentary storyline, I realized my paintings were the real story. CJINW emerged from pigment and brush stroke, plays of shadows and light, wild flights of imagination, and revelations about what’s really important in life.

Are the adventures in CJINW based on your life?

There’s a bit of me in all of them. Some are representational and others are pure flights of fancy.

How do you come up with the ideas for paintings?

I have a truly magical muse, I’ll quote the CJINW… “Nature is always my inspiration. Ideas come in many ways: sometimes after a night of especially vivid dreams, in a quiet meadow of wildflowers, or in crashing waves at that magical moment just before sunset.”

Will you write another book?

Again I’ll quote the book “…One day, I’ll show you my latest paintings, which may lead us on many new colorful journeys.”
